Our client approached us with a clear challenge: to maximise storage in a compact bedroom without compromising on design or comfort. The room needed to function as both a relaxing sleeping area and an organised storage solution.
They envisioned a sleek, built-in unit around the bed that offered generous cupboard space, integrated lighting, and modern functionality. One of the key priorities was maintaining a clean, modern look, with push latches and soft-close features for ease of use.
Smart, Space-Saving Design with Integrated Lighting and Storage
We designed and built a fully custom overbed unit, tailored to the exact measurements of the room. The unit features:
Overhead storage with four cupboards for bulkier items, making the most of vertical space.
A bookshelf above the bed, perfect for displaying personal items or keeping books within easy reach.
An integrated lighting solution, using wall lights on both sides of the bed. These adjustable lamps allow each person to control their own reading light, adding a functional yet stylish element.
Four soft-close drawers and a single wardrobe on the right-hand side of the bed for clothes and smaller belongings.
The entire unit was crafted in Egger Alpine White for a bright and modern finish, with Blum soft-close hinges and push-touch latches throughout to maintain a clean and handle-free look. We also integrated discreet LED lights with touch-sensitive switches, adding a modern glow and enhancing the atmosphere of the room.
